Priority on Health, where do you stand?

11 12 2010

Why do people risk their health in order to earn more money, but then need to use their money to regain their health?

Isn’t it about time we reversed this equation and started thinking about our health and well-being first?

What do you think?

Where are your priorities?

Being a nurse.. i get to see this alot. And its an issue every nurse is aware of. Because to get to lift heavy things in wrong way .. and work extra hours.. sometimes they even come when they are not feeling well…
Work never end.. but our life does.. so i guess its all about how we enjoy each moment. No need to sacrifice your health for money that you might not even spend. But earn and spend and life in moderation. And never we should take our health for granted.

As a nurse, do you also get to meet many who have been careless about their health or taken their body for granted only to then come face to face with a major medical problem and invest all their time, money and energy to try and overcome that setback?
Preventative medicine can cost a fraction of curative methods, all the while keeping the body healthy, strong and performing well. So why do so many not put health on the top of their priority list before something major happens?

Yes 1 i have met people who want to finish their work fast.. and so they get a needle prick from a patient who might have had hepatitis or any other infectious disease!! It happens..
I guess its’s coz people are not aware how dangerous or patinful it will be . How sick they might be .. how they might lose their health in a moment of ignorance of carelessness. Until they live the experience. I know people who never use to wear the belt.. in a country like here where no one cares about car belt .. and you don’t have a penalty fines to pay if u miss it .. So when they make care accidents and develop cervical vertebra fracture and ribs fracture.. lung affected etc.. they regret and they know that it could have been different with a seat belt. Their relatives began to wear seat belt in every minute they get in the car.
Not until we get through it we understand how hard it is.
